Muawiyah Dam

Also known as the Saiysad Dam, this structure was built during the reign of Caliph Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan (r.a.) in 58 AH (677 CE), as evidenced by an ancient inscription found on a rock at the site. Located in the Saiysad National Park, it is a rare surviving example of early Islamic infrastructure designed to manage water resources in the Arabian Peninsula.
