Masjid al-Ghamamah

Located just southwest of the Prophet's Mosque, this mosque marks the spot where the Prophet (PBUH) performed Salat al-Istisqa (prayer for rain). It is reported that clouds (Ghamamah) suddenly appeared and shaded him from the sun, hence the name.
